To the Gardens We Go

Saturday was beautiful so we headed out to the local Botanical Gardens with Grandma. We forgot our picnic blanket, so we tailgate picnicked out of the back of the van - love having a van! And then we headed out. We spent two hours walking, eyeballing a wedding, and playing in the sand. It was nice and Sam had a blast. So here are some pictures of our visit...
tailgate picnic (that's water on my pants)

and climbing them

once again, another failed family photo. I can't keep that girl's head up!

he's getting pretty good at this photo thing...

A belly shot at just 10 weeks. Yikes. Those are maternity clothes, people!

So, it looks like Brian might be getting in this weekend some time. Things were up in the air due to the coup in Kyrgyzstan. They are having to reroute flights and several groups of guys are about a week late getting home. So far it looks like the catching up will be done in time to get Brian home fairly on time. However, I find I have great patience with this. I'm just so grateful he's alive and unwounded, and there's nothing like waiting six days to see your husband after he's been shot. I can wait six days if I have to to get him home safely. And I know more than one widow who wishes she only had six days to wait to see her husband again.
Pray for all the guys' safe return and the frazzled women back here anxiously waiting for them to come home. What a year it has been!
