Monday went as we had suspected some appointment would go - I walked in at 3 and all my tests and blood pressure came back positive for pre-eclamptic levels. Nothing severe like in the case with Sam, but being 38 weeks, why not? So I frantically called Brian and Mom and at 7 that night they walked me back to the OR.
He was born at 7:13 p.m. (Brian's birth date) weighing around 6 pounds, 10 ounces (I knew he'd be small!) and a little over 19 inches. So far Elizabeth has them beat on height and weight at birth!
The experience overall was so different from Sam. Surgery is never fun and I was scared, but I was also so much more alert and able to enjoy the experience. I cried tears of joy when he came out hollering and wouldn't quit for 10 minutes!
The hospital wanted me gone in 48 hours and I couldn't believe it. My pain was substantial and thankful they were open to me staying longer. So we got home Thursday afternoon after less than 72 hours in the hospital. I'm worn out, but feeling good.
Ben is so far a typical newborn, though healthier than Sam was already. Coming home and realizing I'm a mother of three has been something else. I definitely feel out numbered, but we'll see how this adventure goes!

What a beautiful family! Love you so much! Give everybody lots of hugs and kisses for me!
Congratulations! I'm so glad it's over for you, now the fun begins. Ben is precious, and he's not THAT little, just a nice handful. Can't wait to meet him. Mrs. A.
