I cannot believe how the time has flown. This past year has definitely given me some healing over my grief for Sarah. Don't get me wrong, I still tear up all the time, but as I see her moving on, I feel better knowing I have Elizabeth and she doesn't. But our dear sweet Elizabeth is still oblivious to what her birthday means or even is, and I will relish her innocence for as long as I can!
She is growing into such a strong, smart, kind, ornery little girl. We just adore her. She is working hard daily learning new words, taking care of her baby brother and helping me around the house. She likes to DO things, like going to daycare, the store, cleaning up. But she's also great at just cuddling on the couch and watching TV.
Yesterday I read her a book and I pointed to a field of stars and said "star" and she spent the next five minutes pointing out every star on the page and saying "star." And the whole time I just kissed the back of her sweet neck and stroked her hair and marveled at the wonder of her. How could she NOT be from me? I love knowing I was born to be her mother and she my daughter and all of it was completely out of my control. Beautiful perfection from the true Creator.
I can't wait to see the young woman she becomes. I can't help but feel like she will go on to do amazing things.
To celebrate her birthday we had my family over for a cookout and cake. It was a lot of fun, as hanging out with my family usually is. Elizabeth was shy about all the attention, which was cute. She had a blast!

 |
| She had those candles out in one blow! |

| Just right |

 |
| Likely her favorite present. A hat made by her Aunt Teresa! |
 |
| These two are like cousin twins! |

| See? Weird is good |

| She was also practicing her two-year-old face all day |

| Off to take on her future well-armed! |

K, thanks for the adorable birthday pics. I can't believe E. is 2 already! Time flies when you're having fun--or are real busy. She's a love and is looking more like a precious little girl than a baby, Sam is very handsome, and have you ever seen a prettier baby than Ben? No matter how you do it, you have lovely children and are so wonderfully blessed. Great family pic of that zany crew. No wonder I haven't seen your parents lately. I envy them. (Not really, that's a sin, isn't it?) You and Brian seem to be holding up well. Pretty people all and loved so much. God bless. Mrs. A
