Back Yard Photo Shoot

I've been working on a long term project of updating the photos around the house. Poor Maggie is 19 months old and she is a no-show on our walls. The last professional shots we had taken are almost a year old and I wasn't too happy with them.
I sometimes I forget I actually know how to take a decent photo and have a professional grade camera in my possession. So I planned out some poses, outfits and a good time and got to it this morning. I'm still short a group photo of the kids, but hopefully that will be very soon.
Ben was the easiest to photograph! He smiled so easily. I was done with his entire session in under 10 minutes.

Elizabeth wasn't easy. My goofy girl could not smile naturally to save her life. At one point she was so frustrated with the whole process and started to get upset. Brian swooped in and cheered her up. That photo might actually be my favorite of the whole shoot!

Maggie just wasn't getting it. But she's a baby. And it's hard not to be jealous of all those clear eyes and smooth skin! No photo shop needed on these kids!

Sam did great. He had fun and I could tell he's had his picture taken a few times. :) He tends to smile unnaturally too but with all that personality in him I have to catch a real one or it just isn't a picture of Sam. You know? My favorite one is on the bottom.

And because I believe in being honest, here are some outtakes!

I really do enjoy being one on one with my kiddos. This was fun and each one is so dang special! Hope you enjoy and hopefully there will be more to come!

Fantastic photos! Good job, mama!

I am sure that you have already made the connection, but I just realized that your blog name in a way foreshadowed your "household of six" !
