OK, so the Obama administration keeps talking about focusing on Al-Qaida and ignoring the Taliban, because they see Al-Qaida as more of a threat. Their solution, to patrol and bomb the border (as if Bush hadn't been doing it already). And yet its constantly being brought to the attention of everyone that the Taliban are threatening violence during the now second run at elections in Afghanistan. No legitimate elections = no stable country = no getting out of there. And yet, somehow, the Taliban are not our real enemy.
Should we go after Al-Qaida in Pakistan - absolutely!
Should we go after the Taliban in Afghanistan - absolutely!
Which enemy polls as more important - Al-Qaida - ahhh....and there we have the reason behind Obama's choices.
One of the reason's I considered voting for Obama was because he said he would make the Army bigger so we could handle all of our world responsibilities better, i.e. go after BOTH enemies. Thanks to the economy, the Army met its recruiting goals for this year. Obama, it's time to see your efforts....
