A year in the life of Ben

My little unexpected miracle has completed the first year of his life and I couldn't be sadder. :) I LOVE the first year, all the discoveries and the ego trip of being needed so much. And no one needed me more than my Bennie. An almost constant crier, this kid has made for one big challenge. But with me he's a total sweetie. I will never get tired of his face lighting up EVERY TIME he sees me. And with his first year over, it's only a matter of time before he discovers the world out there and doesn't need me so much anymore. In some ways I feel like this is the first day of the rest of my life, because now it's no more babies - kids and career from here on out. I'm looking forward to it, and so incredibly grateful for the blessing of my three little ones. Happy Birthday, Bennie!
The biggest surprise of my entire life

Happy to have made it full term with this one. But get him out already.
I was smiling because I hadn't tried this at home yet.
Still surprised he was only 6 pounds!

What's wrong with this picture? There are TWO babies in it and they're brother and sister!

Here he is at two months. He smiled for the first time days after he was born! That's how I knew the colic wasn't his personality - he would be smiley one day....

Chillin' in his swing. He always had a smile for his mama!

Crowded tub!

He eventually learned to love Brian. They all do. :)
I have a picture of all my kids in this onesie!
One of three - can't believe we're a family of five sometimes

They will always have each other.

Getting to be such a big boy!
They play together now!

Love my curly headed boy. We finally got one with the hair we expected them all to have.

So we head his little party on Sunday. He did great - I was worried he would freak out at all the people, but he seems to be getting over that phase. He was so oblivious to all the attention - made me want to spoil him even more! He wolfed down the special S'mores cupcakes Brian made - chocolate cupcake, graham cracker and marshmallow frosting. He smiled a lot and had a good time. And I only teared up once. He is such a sweetie and I can't wait to see what his next year of life brings us!

Just so you know, I panicked a little when I clicked on your page and the first thing to pop up was a pregnancy test. Made my blood pressure go up a little until I saw the title :) Haha! Again, I wanted to be there so badly, but I will hopefully get to see you guys very soon. Love you and I love the big family you guys have made together! <3

Better late than never checking my blogs, right? Gee, I can't believe our little Ben is a year old already. He is such a love and has such a sweet smile. The kids are growing so rapidly and isn't it exciting watching them! I know it's been hard at times, especially getting started, but what a beautiful family you have and you are truly blessed. Hope to see you next Brandon visit. In the meantime, hugs the children for me and you are all loved so very much. Mrs. A.
I hear in Page's email how much she'd like to have a family and I DO SO HOPE it's in her future, too.
