Potomac Playground

National Ferris Wheel
In our continuing efforts to make sure we don't miss all that DC has to offer, we hit the National Harbor on the Maryland side of the Potomac today. The weather was in the 70s and cloudy, but the humidity made it feel warmer. The kids had a blast and we spent less than $100 for the whole thing!
The Awakening (his head)
We started off with a visit to The Awakening, a giant size sculpture "buried" in the sand to look like a man trying to climb out of the ground. We wandered up and down the waterfront and finally found the carousel and playground. We ate a picnic lunch and let the kids ride the carousel (unlimited rides!). Then we finished off the trip with some Pinkberry frozen yogurt on the grassy field in front of the harbor. It was a good time, despite the heat. We were too tired to hit the farmer's market and had to skip the paddle boats when we learned we'd have to rent two to get everyone on, doubling the cost. It was a pretty place and the kids had a blast and hopefully made some memories, which is what it's all about.

Ice cream!
