Slaying the dragon

So I made split-pea soup tonight and in an effort to get Sam to eat it, I decided I was going to make it sound fun. I have read that making healthy foods sound fun will entice kids to eat them. So I called my soup "dragon soup." I told Sam that Daddy killed a dragon at work today and he brought it home and Mommy cooked it.
Then Brian informs me that Sam just named his stuffed dragon Sean and may not like to eat him for dinner. Ugh! Sure enough, when I show him the dragon soup, he looks at me and says
"Sean is upstairs."
So much for that. I knocked it down to "Hey, there are hot dogs in the soup" (sausage) and he ate it right up. =) Thank goodness it didn't turn into a "You killed Sean!" evening. And where did he get the name Sean?!

Ha ha! Nice one!

For future reference.. it may not be a good idea to say you killed something and then cooked it for him. Zoe would have gone PETA on your butt!( or would have asked if it was organic dragon meat, who knows.)

Having a bright kid isn't always a good thing you know.

Love.
