So, we decorated the Christmas tree and Sam's preschool put on a show on his last day. The shopping is done, the cards (oh,yeah, didn't bother to do cards - just letters and pics) are sent and besides getting my house clean and the menu for the week planned, there's nothing much to do. It's wonderful!
Updating on the military topics: Brian has been trying to find a way out of the HHT command once he realized it would not benefit his career as much as it would hurt him. He has gotten out of it, then told he's back in, and right now he's back out of it again. This time it looks pretty good, but I'm not holding my breath. The guy who may take it over has a fiancee who's a Blackhawk pilot and already has a command of her own. This means he has no typical volunteer to run his FRG, especially since they will both be deployed together. So guess who might end up running it anyway? Ha. Ha. Ha. The irony.
Also, we've been given unofficial official notice that we'll be deploying 6 months earlier than planned. It looks like we'll be sending him off to war in April or May. Just in time to miss our 10-year-anniversary. =) When we celebrated our one year, we went all out because we knew it was likely we would miss many future anniversaries. We have no regrets from that fantastic, perfect anniversary. It already makes up for missing this milestone one. That and knowing we have a wonderful marriage to celebrate, no matter how far apart we'll be from each other.
I have all kinds go goodies to show you, so hopefully this will tide you over until after Christmas. Here Sam is NOT performing in the Christmas show. I watched him at rehearsal the week before and he did the same thing. I guess I was hoping for a Christmas miracle the day of the show. Ha ha ha. He is apparently too cool to sing and perform with all the other kids. When I asked him why he didn't sing, he said "I can't." For your info, the entire row he is on is his 2-year-old classmates. The bottom row is 3s and the top is, I believe, 4s. The teacher he sits with at the end is Miss Carol Ann, who is so sweet to him and plays with him all the time in class. She seems to tolerate kids more than the main teacher. =)
You may now watch my son misbehave for the next 6 minutes. And this video is actually twice as long as that, so you're welcome for not making you watch the full thing. =)
I was also going to edit a video of us decorating the tree, but this is all taking too long already. Instead, I've got a video of the best part, and another short one of Sam rocking out the other day. Merry Christmas everyone and God Bless!

I got the biggest kick out of the videos of Sam NOT performing at his Christmas program. Actually, he WAS performing, just not the same thing as everybody else! Anyway, I laughed out loud at his precious antics, and think you should save it and show it to him when he's 21! God bless you all as we celebrate the blessed CHRISTmas season. Love ya! Mrs. A.
I see he wasn't the only 2 yr old not performing! Ah, well, at least he didn't burp in the wrong place and give away the punch line! Can't wait to get my hands on him TOMORROW!!
Love ya! Mom
You know, I didn't even notice Sam during the perfomance. Only at the beginning when he was sticking out his little lip and calling for "mama"! :) Ronin totally did not perform either, and he is usually Mr.Performer during these things. He spent one entire song trying to "blow the boo boo off his hand". Whatev.
Hope you guys have a great Christmas with the grandparents!!
I meant the "not noticing" part as in... don't sweat him "misbehaving" .... he's 2, it's his job! And besides... at least he did something to stand out! AND at least he did not scream his head off and have to be carried off stage. I've seen that every time !
