One month down

Today marks 4 weeks since we said goodbye to Brian.
The garage door broke, the deck had to get cleaned and sealed, the dryer shut off the power to my house about 10 times, Sam split his forehead open, got into a children's Tylenol bottle and drank it, finished preschool for the semester and has thrown 42 temper tantrums, I've been sick with allergies or a sinus infection three times and my mom came to visit and promptly got sick for the whole visit.
But...I've been able to find ways to cook-which I enjoy, had lots of fun with friends and family, got a manicure and a massage, got a beautiful and comfortable patio set of my dreams, built a desk and a headboard for my new master bedroom and get 16 hours of free childcare every month Brian is gone!
I'm looking forward to more house projects to keep me busy, fun with friends and a trip down to Florida for June.
And in 11 months I'll be welcoming my husband home!
Brian is doing better and getting more settled in. He has been moved from a tent to a room and they are slowly figuring out who goes where because it is very crowded. Here is a picture of his corner of the room.
He is moving farther north in August to take command of his first line troop and I know he's excited about that. Meanwhile he's working a noon to midnight schedule, which he likes, and things are picking up. He bought a cell phone and got an internet connection, so we speak or exchange emails daily. That is such a blessing because we didn't think it would be this good for a long time!
As get ready for the next 4 weeks and the summer months, I just want to remind people to make sure you put shoes on your kid when they play outside. You never know what might happen if you leave them unprotected from the elements.
