Updates

OK, here's what's been going on with us in the last week or so.
I spent the last part of the week cleaning out and organizing our storage shed and garage (somewhat). Our shed had been totally neglected since we moved in and still had unpacked boxes in them. So I took everything out, including stuff left by all kinds of previous owners, built a shelf - no laughing - and my own "peg board" to help get stuff off the floor and be easier to find. I'm quite proud of myself, obviously. So here are some pictures of that.

Also, these are the long-awaited pictures of my new patio set and cleaned and sealed deck. I just put up a screen door and outdoor lighting Saturday as well. It's so luxurious, it's ridiculous. I take the paper and my coffee out there in the morning and just lounge. Ahhhh.....

Better enjoy it while I can, because the adoption situation is heating up.
As of May 26, we are approved for adoption. Andra called me Thursday to tell me our profile would be shown to no fewer than three women this week! There are very few families in the state that will even consider these babies because they are either black or bi-racial. They are all due between "now and August."
Needless to say, the nursery is my next project. I will be painting, constructing and organizing and hope to be done by Friday.
Please keep these women in your prayers. Brian and I want nothing but God's will in this situation, so pray it is very clear to us. We'll keep you updated.
Also, Brian is keeping busy on a noon to midnight schedule. Staying out of trouble so far. He's not making any requests right now. He's just really frustrated with all the "stupidity" that comes from being part of the Army. Pray for his ability to not sweat the small stuff!

You did the 'pegboard' the best way. I went out and bought some real pegboard and some of the little hooks that go with it, and I find it more frustrating than helpful. It filled up fast, and many of the hooks aren't very useful to me, and they take up so much space! A piece of wood with nails where you need to it a thousand times better.

The deck looks WONDERFUL. I am SO coming over, bringing the kids to destroy your yard and sit on that deck with coffee and talk about babies and brats with you! Schedule it!!!! :)

Very excited to see where this adoption journey takes you and WHEN!!
