Beating the Summer Heat

Every time we told someone we were moving to Fort Benning, they said "It's hot." They weren't kidding.
When we moved here in February it felt like spring, and now that it's May/June, the weather has been 100 degrees or high 90s ever since. Sheesh! You really can't go outside. But this past weekend we decided to hit the pool here on post. It has a kiddie pool and splash pad as well as a huge olympic sized pool - and its all free. One perk to being military, I will say!
The kids had a blast! Elizabeth got used to the water pretty quickly and then wandered off walking with her float to all four corners of the pool. Ben was relaxed in the water and Sam was his usual loud self. It was quite nice, and an hour later, we headed for home! I think I can take the kids by myself now, as long as we stick to the kiddie pool. Sam is fine by himself and Elizabeth did very well once we gave her the floatie, so this might actually work to spend some time at the pool this summer!

How adorable is my daughter?!

Dad, Sam and Elizabeth. Love this picture of Sam!

Ben and his weird floatie that was there for us to borrow. Ick. You can tell he didn't like it either.

Oh look! A picture of ME with the kids. :)

Ben awaits his fate. Chubber. Seven months, y'all!

A video of my littlest dude practicing his boy noises. He gets cuter every day!
