Forever Friends

One thing I do like about the Army life is when you get to see old friends again. A few months after we moved here we learned a family we used to know at Fort Bragg was also moving here to Fort Benning! We hadn't seen each other in nearly three years. The Rice's arrived last month and I'm so happy to have a friend nearby. Stephanie and I met while we were both pregnant with our IVF babies, Sam and Caleb. They were born within a few months of each other and we later started a weekly co-op, so Sam and Caleb have been playing with each other since before they were one-year-old! Stephanie, who is a chaplain's wife, also held a bible study that became my first adult bible study and truly changed my spiritual life. She also introduced me to the Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC), another Bible study program that you can find on any Army post in the world.
The Rice's also chose to adopt their second child through Bethany Christian Services, so we went through our adoption journey's together, too. They adopted Luke in 2008 and the last time we saw them Sam and I went to meet Luke when he was just 4 weeks old. He'll be turning three in September!
Luke (I fell in love with those big brown eyes three years ago!)

They're living on post, and though Sam and Caleb won't be attending the same elementary school, we live within a five minute drive of each other and we expect to see them often! Stephanie and I will also be in PWOC this fall together.
I found these old pictures to go with the new one I took of the boys after they were reunited a few weeks ago. Yay for old Army friends!

Big boys now at 5 years old!
