Update on project Restoration

Well, we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! And it only took 6 weeks. =)
Contractors are laying our hardwood floor right now. The kitchen vinyl was laid yesterday. I can't believe I may actually have furniture in that room and the clutter gone from my house by the weekend!
I'm still not sure I like my kitchen. I got to choose the paint color and the floor tiles, and I think they look nice, but I'm not sure I like the whole picture. My cabinets just look so dingy. Sigh. I need to do something about that, but where's the time?
There's still a few more little things that need to be done and they are behind schedule as it is. They were supposed to be done Monday with the floors. The deadline for the entire project is next Monday. Ha!

Meanwhile, Sam started swim lessons Tuesday morning and he's having a blast playing in the pool every day. They're teaching him to be comfortable in the water, blow bubbles, get his hair wet, kick and pick up rings. I still can't get him to dunk his face, which is my goal. I want him to learn to be OK under the water. He doesn't listen very well and always wants to do his own thing, which is really frustrating for me. I think I'm THAT mom in the class, the Natzi who's always pushing him to do better. But mostly because I'm trying to get him to do SOMETHING. I paid for this class, after all. =)
Today he was very carefully lowering his body to get a ring in about 2 feet of water. He was careful to keep his mouth shut, but as soon as the water would hit it nose he would jump up and quit trying instead of blowing water out so he could go further. But we're getting there. Atleast he's not afraid of the water. He keeps trying to walk further and further into the deep water, as if he's going to just drink his way to the other side. Sound familiar, Aunt Pagie?

Elijah starts swimming lessons at the end of the month! I think he will do fine, except there might be a problem considering he thinks he already knows how to swim...until he gets a bit deeper in the pool :/

"He doesn't listen very well and always wants to do his own thing"
I can't imagine where he gets that from.

I'm glad you're teaching Sam to swim. I took all of mine to lessons--guess God was preparing us for life in Fla--and they all enjoy the water (one was in the navy for 28 yrs) and I still CAN"T SWIM!! Mrs. A.

Yeah, Ronin owes me $50 from his swim lessons. He bit it in the water the first lesson and then refused to go back in.:) So, Go Sam!!!
