We're back

And we had a great time. It was so nice to see family again and we got to actually relax on this vacation!

First we hit Oma and Opa's (German for grandmother and grandfather) to see Brian's grandparents. Sam was disappointed at first when he got there and realized Grandma wasn't there (which one he was expecting, we still don't know). But he brightened right up and had a blast running back and forth from the house to the creek and looking for bunnies.

Look, Mommy! I picked lettuce!

Three generations of men looking for bunnies at the direction of a two-year-old.

Then we hit my Aunt Beth's house and Sam had a blast with my two cousins, Erin and Colleen. Erin, the 8-year-old, just adopted Sam and took care of him. It was wonderful! He spent hours in the community pool and also went to a local garden and zoo. Pictures of that to follow, when I get them in!

Our final destination was my Uncle Mike's place. He and his wife Cathy have put a little bit of paradise in their backyard and between lounging poolside all day long and eating Cathy's fantastic cooking, we were in heaven! I managed to do myself in, though. While we were getting ready to go into the pool, Sam, who had hold of an innertube, fell in. Brian came at him from one direction and I came in from the poolside, still fully dressed. I decided instead of diving into the water, I would just dive onto the concrete deck. Here's the result ....

Painful, you bet. Here's my boy having the time of his life with Daddy.

Here's an unedited video (sorry, still working on that) of Brian trying to teach Sam how to swim.

We came home to not so completely finished floors, a fly infestation, and appliances not put back where they should be. Back to the real world, I guess. =) The flooring should be finished by Tuesday afternoon and then we can finally start finishing the unpacking.

Also, God answered a specific prayer of ours this week, and He did it abundantly. I LOVE it when that happens! =)

Looks like it was a fun trip. Sam is adorable, I could just squeeze him!
