Finally!

Finally, pictures!
And finally, pee pee on the potty!
OK, so twice now we've taken Sam to the hangar because I wanted a picture of him and Brian next to a helicopter so we could put it next to Sam's bed while Brian's gone. He was very difficult about it, scared of the aircraft, and so on. Friday was our last chance, so I finally got some that will do the job.
I never noticed how much he looks like Brian until this picture.

And I had sort of unofficially started potty training Sam with no real method in mind. I had told him he got stickers for trying and candy for actually going. On Friday he was a little upset that he couldn't make himself go, because he really wanted that candy. Today he got even more upset about it and even cried on the potty. He wanted that candy so bad he wouldn't even get off the toilet. He kept refusing to quit practicing and tried so hard. I was so proud of him for making such an effort that on top of the stickers I gave him a special toy, but no candy. He immediately took the toy, went right back to the toilet, and peed a little! I was jumping up and down and screaming and he was so happy because he got candy. Then he took the candy and went right back to the toilet and peed some more! I was just thrilled. We've only been at this maybe three days, so we're so much farther along than I expected at this point. And then while I was cooking dinner and he was running around naked he totally emptied his bladder all over his bedroom carpet, but oh well. Could have been worse. And will be once we really get going. But I was thrilled. I totally embarrassed him with my praise.

And how funny that this is so exciting. Parenthood. Ha ha ha ha!
