OK, I'm a writer and I think I'm going to have trouble describing all the emotions I felt when I got to see Sam again today. He apparently acted terribly when Brian went to pick him up (I'm still too weak to make the trip) so I didn't know what to expect. Also, my son is notoriously unaffectionate, so I wasn't sure he would care one iota that he hadn't seen me in a week.
But when I heard the garage door open, we spied eachother through the windows of Brian's car and he came running towards me "Mommy! Mommy!" and before I knew it I was crying and hugging my baby, who looked SO grown up.
Now, I know all this seems a little ridiculous to some, but considering my entire existence is based around raising this kid and all I do all day long is take care of him, being away from him for a week was very unusual. In fact we've never been seperated this long before, ever!
He asked me if I was sad, and I had to try to explain through the tears that I was very happy. He looked an entire year older to me, and I just couldn't get over it. He looked like a stranger practically. It was very much like being reunited with Brian after a deployment!
Anyway, it was like 12 Christmases rolled into one and we just got done playing for an hour in his room. I can't believe how big he seems. And now I'm totally convinced its time to potty train! =)
In light of all this, I have to make this comment. This fantastic kid that I can't get enough of used to be a frozen embryo in a lab. The same kind that our president now wants to kill for scientific "integrity." I don't agree with embryos being destroyed for any reason, but these kind of especially bogus reasons are truly scary to me. Those that railed against Bush's ban on on using NEW embryos (he did not ban stem cell research, as everyone likes to say) did not stop scientists from making signicant progress in the areas of stem cell research. In fact, some significant discoveries were made without having to kill any embryos at all. I remember reading about one lab that was able to accomplish what they had planned without using embryonic stem cells at all. These people thought outside the box and accomplished their goal. And lives were saved. But the misinformed, lazy and downright immoral scientists refuse to make the same efforts, and little babies like Sam are going to die.
All of the theories about what stem cells can do are only theories. Not a single disease has been cured or even come close with the research that's already been done using embryonic stem cells. There is no garauntee these unborn will cure Alzheimers or Parkinson's disease. But thousands will now die just too see "what if?" Since when did killing innocents become OK for "scientific integrity." This is nothing less than killing human beings for research. It is a REALLY sad statement of the world we live in today. And it truly breaks my heart.
My only light in this darkness is knowing their souls will rest in Heaven, and that one day my Lord will return and right all this wrong. I just wish so many didn't have to suffer in the meantime.

Embryonic "research" is scientific mumbo-jumbo for MURDER of INNOCENTS. While we can't do much beside protest vehemently to our government, GOD can!
Romans 12:19 is not just some words written on paper.
Mr."A"
Ah, well, we'll be one step closer to Jesus coming back and righting all the wrongs!
SO glad you're feeling better!
Love you, Mom
