God-given name

OK, so this may be WAY jumping the gun and I could possibly be eating some serious crow later, but I have a blog page to fill, so why not.
I've decided the name of our next child. I was inspired by one of my favorite Bible verses, Jeremiah 29:11-13.
11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
I've been thinking of the first verse particularly for several months now. I think its such a perfect verse for a child, especially one who starts out life in such a tough position. But also for a birth mother, who is struggling so much that she is giving up her child. It's a great verse to use as a witness to those who don't yet know the powerful love of Christ.
So, for months now I've been thinking, "What if we named a baby boy Jeremiah." We've always said we wanted another boy, and I really loved the way Sam's name seemed inspired by God. I wanted each of our children to have a truly inspired name. But I didn't like the name Jeremiah. And neither did anyone else.
Then a few nights ago I was laying in bed, thinking instead of reading the book in front of my face, and it suddenly dawned on me that if it were a girl, we could call her Mya, from Jeremiah. Both of these names are acceptable in the black community, as well. And lately I've been thinking its going to be a girl. =)
So I run this by Brian and he tells me he wants a girl now, and he likes the name Mya. Note: Brian and I have never agreed on any name other than Sam, so Mya makes number two! It was meant to be!
So, who wants to bet we're going to get a girl? And we're going to name her Mya! (wink, wink)

I like Mya. But if it's a boy, and you name him Jeremiah, I am going to call him Jem. Just warning you :)

And I may call him Jerry. You go with whatever God-given name you receive. Mrs. A.

I love the name Jeremiah...it was a front runner for Isaac until I met a kid that drove me insane with that name, lol! I was worried they would call him Jerry though too which made me whince. I love the name Mya..its very sweet and simple!
