Keeping the faith

I've been wallowing so much in self pity lately, and it disgusts me! Goodness knows how you poor people must feel for having to read it. =)
With all the transition, it's been a couple months since I've set foot in church. Despite a power outage last night and not sleeping well, we got up and went this morning. As always, I was so glad I did. The music helped me focus on what's really important. We sang one of my favorite songs and one that really spoke to me this morning. So I thought I'd post some of it here.

Knowing You
All I once held dear
built my life upon
All this world reveres, and wars to own
All I once thought gain
I have counted loss
Spent and worthless now, compared to this

Knowing you, Jesus
knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all
you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you, Lord

Now my heart's desire is to know you more
To be found in you, and known as yours
To possess by faith what I could not earn
All surpassing gift of righteousness

I know how you feel about not going to church! Heather just sent me an amazing book by a christian author. Her name is Francine Rivers and the book is called Redeeming Love. Its loosely based on the book of Hosea. Such a good story with great characters. It reminded me how much power God has in our lives and all we have to do is follow. Then someone came to our door today about going to their church. So many signs telling me to finally get off my butt and find a church. No more excuses. I'm going next week. And I highly recomend the book! Love you!
