Sam said some funny stuff throughout, and I've sworn to remember them all so I could post them.
After we finally convinced him to wear the suit and go out for candy (we had changed our minds about this and decided to just take him up the street) we left our bowl on the porch so people could help themselves. As we were leaving, people were coming up our driveway and Sam instructed them to "Get some candy!"
At our neighbor's house, his first foray into asking for candy, he didn't ring the bell, he just yelled "Come open your door!" It was hilarious!
At every door, before they even shut the door, he was saying "More candy!" And when we saw people on the street, it was always "I got candy! Get some candy! Get more candy!" A man on a mission, he was.
As we put him to bed way past his bedtime (when he started doing full body spins like the exorcist, we decided he had had enough candy) he declared Halloween was fun and he wanted to do it again tomorrow. That sounds vaguely familiar (Elijah at Christmas?)
The next morning when Brian went out to get the paper, Sam met him at the door and I could hear him saying he wanted to do Halloween again. Brian said "It's all over. No more Halloween." And Sam says "One more." Ha!
On another note, if you haven't heard of Operation Christmas Child, please check it out. It's such a great outreach program and Brian and I love supporting it every year. We have such a blast shopping for these kids. At Brian's suggestion, we're taking our usual tithe for November and giving it all to this project. Sorry, COD! But someone somewhere will be blessed - in fact about 5 kids - by the time we're done.
I'm healing well from the surgery, but still a little out of it. I hate what all these drugs do to you. I just don't feel "normal" yet. Of course, some would say I never was .....
