So we're home a day early from our fantastic ski trip, except it wasn't fantastic and there was no skiing.
We got there Sunday, it rained ALL DAY Monday so we couldn't ski as we had planned. Meanwhile, Sam figures he's been really good so far with all the traveling he's done this month and it was time for a breakdown. He doesn't sleep all night, so neither do we. He has a fever and is in total emotional misery: homesickness. As a parent, I'd never seen it before, and it was ugly. He was a total wreck, crying and totally exhausted from having no sleep and constantly asking to go home. So we took him home, and Mommy wept as we drove past the ski slopes. Sniff sniff.
On the upside, he actually wanted his Mommy, which meant he was in REALLY bad shape, since Daddy is always the go-to parent. So I got lots of cuddle and kisses time with him.
As soon as we got within 30 minutes of home, his spirit brightened up immensely and now he's in a great mood. But we're not out of the woods yet. He still needs to break this fever, and if he could just finally poop out that lego he ate on Friday, I'll feel a lot better. As will Sam.
Oh, and no pictures, because I'm having major battery problems. I will never buy one off the internet again. Besides, we didn't DO anything, so there was nothing to take pics of.

You must have meant "there was nothing of which to take pics."!!
SO sorry you and Sam suffered so--we'll try to make Christmas a lot better, and he'll be at his house.
Love you! Mom
Oh! Bummer! Poor littel dude ( and mommy!)
