Arrivals

I got the call Sunday morning as I was walking out the door to church: Elizabeth was on her way. She arrived at 3:50 p.m., March 14, 7 lbs. and some ounces, 22 inches long. Mom and baby are doing great.
Sarah asked that no one bother her Monday, and she would see Bethany's social worker Tuesday. She asked if we wanted to save the cord blood, but it was too late. I mention this because it's the only sign I have that she hasn't changed her mind yet. She had told us she wanted one day with her. Can you imagine what she's going through right now? It breaks my heart. I'm glad to know she likes us so much, which has got to make it easier to hand her daughter over to us.
Also, like a speeding bullet, Mom is already on her way up. I feel so guilty at being so demanding, but I could really use somebody taking care of me around here. This pregnancy has me almost constantly not feeling well, and I haven't been able to really take care of myself in more than a week. I feel better already knowing she's coming!
So far, I have a really good peace about this. Not that we're for sure going to get her, but that it will be okay, no matter what. Brian feels the same way. And now that interim care will take place, I'm grateful for the extra week to prepare and rest. However, I don't think I'll be putting baby furniture together or shopping....a little too soon for that!
I believe this peace may be directly associated with all the prayers we're getting from everyone. Thank you SO much - they are working!

I'm glad all went well with the birth and so happy Elizabeth is here. Born on the Lord's day, to boot. Do try to rest and take care of yourself this week. "Mom's on the way"--what comforting words. But that's what mom's do--always ready at a moments notice to help where/whenever needed. But I agree, you have a very special mother and believe me, she's looking forward to every moment of it! Also completely thrilled about the house. God's timing--ain't He awesome!! Love to everyone. Mrs. A.
