Proud to be an American

This is the beginning of many a rant against the US Army's treatment of military families...
We're forced to stay in the Army's lodging if we want the government to pay for it (while they force us to move as well).
The toilet isn't connected to the floor. Every time you sit down and get up, it slams into the tile floor.
The tub's drain stop doesn't work. Try giving a toddler a bath with the water constantly leaving the tub.
The matress is one step up from sleeping on the floor. It's also a full-size bed, not a queen. My husband's feet dangle off the end of it from his ankles down.
The place to check in and get your free breakfast is a 3-minute drive from our room.
The free breakfast looks NOTHING like what civilians get for a free breakfast these days.
The walls are so thin, we could everything the family plus dog was doing last night, including showers, playing, and the dog barking. Who has barked all day long. No nap for Sam.
Yes, it's free. It's free because NO ONE WOULD PAY FOR THIS!
But I'm supposed to wave my American flag and be proud my husband was shot in Iraq for this. Right....

It ain't free...you're just not paying for it directly.

The Army's money is gettin' real tight these days. Sorry you have to deal with it. Hope your new home is much more confortable.

Hi Gorgeous,

You bring back memories of our 17 moves in the Army. Doesn't sound very different than our experiences then.

Remember, Love being a soldier, love serving your country and her people, hate the Army and the civilians that run it.

It's the only Army we have got.

Love,

Dad
